About Atcheson Taxidermy

In 1951, Jack Atcheson, Sr., founded Atcheson Taxidermy in Butte, Montana. Tom Hardesty, Sr., went to work for Jack Atcheson, Sr., in 1964. Begenning at the bottom, he learned his trade exceptionally well. In 1980, Tom purchased the taxidermy business from Jack Atcheson, Sr. Tom's three sons, Tom, Jr., Shean, and Joe Hardesty, also joined the company. Tom, Jr., began working in 1988, Shean in 1990, and Joe in 1992.

Atcheson Taxidermy is world renowned for our museum quality taxidermy. Mounts produced in our taxidermy studio are sent to private collectors and museum in both foreign and domestic locations. We have mounted virtually every species of wild animals in the world that is hunted by man.

Atcheson Taxidermy is recognized for our honesty, reliability, and prompt service. We have accumulated over 150 years expertise, and are hightly recommended by the Smithsonian and the National Taxidermy Association.

In 1997, Tom purchased D & C Expediters and Taxidermy, which is a receiving and shipping agent for sportsmen, sportswomen, and taxidermists worldwide. The company was established in 1976 and i located in Anchorage, Alaska. The compnay is now operated by his son Shean.

In 2006, Joe Hardesty purchased Pine Mountain Outfitters. This is a guidingservice operated in Canada.

In 2008, Tom Sr. decided to start Tom Hardesty & Sons International Hunting Consultants to better serve his customers. This is operated in association with Mark's Exclusive Adventures.

Montana is a sales-tax free state. You do not need to pay Montana sales tax on your taxidermy through Atcheson Taxidermy.
